WOM Ch 3 A Sealed Fate

They had made up quite a bit of distance now.  The path was starting to get narrower and harder to follow. The re were roots that were jolted out of the ground like snears and the branches on the crooked dead-looking trees stuck out like razor sharp swords. "Hurry up!" yelled Fairu as stumbled over a rock. Kurerikku and Aisu were a fair bit behind Fairu. Kurerikku jumped over a root but only to get herself caught on one of the jagged branches.
"Ahh!" the screamed with the shock of the sudden tension on her neck. Aisu turned around and rushed to help her. Fairu continued on not noticing what had happened. He came to the fork in the road.
"We have to go left!" he shouted and turned down the path. The other two couldn't hear him. Aisu finally teared Kurerikku free from the branch and they started running again but Aisu got her foot caught in a root. Kurerikku turned to her aid. Then all of a sudden they heard the all to fimiliar but unpleasent sound of the evil eye's screach. Kurerikku tryed frantically to pull Aisu from the grasp of the root.
"Arugh!" Aisu chringed with pain. There was an Evil eye with its teeth clenched on her ankle. "Kurerikku..." she passed out. The poison from an evil eye causes an emidiate loss of conciousness.
"Dammit!" Kurerikku shot the evil eye off Aisu with a Holy arrow which caused the rest to be blinded. She put her hands together. "Bless!" she cast the spell on Aisu. It should protect her until they got to SleepyWood. She picked up Aisu on her back and ran. She ran down the path on the right. A few minutes later she stopped by a tree and layed Aisu down. All of a sudden there was a strange growl. Kurerikku grabbed Aisu and ran up the tree. She looked down. There was a Balrog wandering around below. She looked around. There was no where to escape. She looked through her pack. She had one teleport scroll left. She knew what she had to do. She took out the scroll and a piece of paper and started to write on it. The little slime hopped out of her hood. "Okay little guy, I need you to take this letter and give it to Fairu ok," she said and tied the paper on the slime's antenna. She layed the slime on Aisu's lap. "Do this for me okay?" she said softly. The baby slime nodded. Kurerikku activated the scroll and threw it in Aisu's lap. In a few seconds she and the slime were gone. Knowing there was no way to get away she jumped down. The balrog turned to face her and roared loudly. She took out her staff. "Looks like my fate has be sealed."

Fairu paced in the middle of SleepyWood. He had already looked for them everywhere and couldn't find them.
"Where the heck are those two?" he asked himself. "What the-" there was a blue flash infront of him. When he opened his eyes he saw Aisu laying on the ground.
"Aisu!" he knelt down. The slime squeaked to get his attention. Fairu took the note off and read it.......

Fairu,
Aisu was biten by an evil eye. Please take her to the hotel in SleepyWood to get healed. As for me, I don't think i'll be coming back. Make sure Aisu is healed and is alright and only then do i want you to come and look for me. You two were the best friends i could have ever had. Stay strong for me.

Fairu was speechless. He looked at the note and then at Aisu. He folded the paper, put it in his pack and ran towards the hotel.
